Catholic Teachers

Collaboration and Networking for Catholic Teachers Around the World

I'm working on a unit on the Catholic Social Justice Teachings for my seventh graders (just an introduction). Has anyone else worked with students on this? It seems like so many Catholics don't even know that these social justice teachings exist that I thought I'd do my part. I'd like this to end with a service learning project, but I'm still working on it. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?

In a former stint at the local Catholic grade school I taught a two week unit on social justice to our 8th grade class. When we approached the economic issues we played I game I found off of a British Diocese's Office of Social Justice. http://salt.claretianpubs.org/ie/2002/02/ie0202.html is an example of a similar game.

http://www.slideshare.net/caroy/social-justice-463125/ is a link to a summary of Catholic teaching geared more towards adults.

All the best. ..... The games do go over pretty well for the economic issues anyway.
